Heathrow, aka the Aird of Sleat has pulled a really good one, which is that the traveller trying to go through terminal four, which is the main BA hub cannot take checked baggage, as the luggage system has broken down. Check it out here on the BA website.
Right, so if you want to go to another country, as will inevitably happen if you take a long haul flight, best not to need a change of clothes or have to take anything for more than a couple of days stay, supposing you happened to find out about this before you got to the airport.
Passengers with check-in baggage will not be boarded. Surreally useless, and no wonder Heathrow is always mentioned as being the world's worst airport.
