Well, Quiet Sunday, or relatively speaking, as the Smallest Space Cadet of them all has had two of his friends for two nights of sleep-overs, and Wim the most intelligent member of the crew is bugging me about the fact that HE HAS NOT BEEN WALKED and would I like to do something about it. His means of communicating this, like most other things is to come up to me, stick his nose in my crotch, sniff loudly, and then whine, It`s hard not to take it personally, but I know its just a call to action. Mind you, let`s hope that it never catches on in business. "And now, a call to action. Sniiffff.... Urk."
Tomorrow night I fly to Johannesburg in South Africa, I`m down there until Saturday, seeing the South African banking industry, according to the agenda that I have been given. Looks like it will be around 22 or 24 degrees and sunny, so that will make a nice change to 2 degrees and continuous overcast, which is what we have here in Geneva for the moment. I enjoy going to South Africa, the people have a real "can-do" attitude to things, and it is the furthest ahead in terms of the English speaking market for SAP Banking. The only pain in the ass is the ten hour economy flight really, but that`s nothing new. At least there is no jet-lag to contend with.
More thoughts from Johannesburg once I am there. Might even get my act together to take a camera down for a change. Used to use the one on my cellphone, a Sony Ericsson P800, but I have recently bought a Nokia 9300 Communicator, which is a much better phone, but has no camera. (I liked the P800, but it had some oddities that stopped it being perfect, whereas the Nokia still has the edge in the "It Just Works" front. And the thumb board is surprisingly usable,)
So, time to take the extended crew to the pizzeria, and try and keep three small boys calm long enough to inhale a pizza. Sheesh.
